KATIE RUBIN, MFA

Working Actress and Comic, Instructor at Stanford University,

Continuing Studies, and American Conservatory Theater

Katie Rubin is a Stand Up Comic, Actress, and Educator. She received her MFA in Acting at UC Davis, and her BA in Theater at Amherst College. She teaches Acting, Improv, and Stand Up Writing at Stanford and at A.C.T. Her online writing class is continually running (details at katierubin.com/classes). Recent Acting credits include: Lisette in “The Heir Apparent” at The Aurora, Patricia in “The Taming” at Marin Shakes, Tanya in "The North Plan," Mrs. Daldry in “In The Next Room or The Vibrator Play,” and Wendy in "Hunter Gatherers at Cap Stage, Izzy in “Rabbit Hole,” and The Nurse in “Wit,” at The B Street Theater.

MARK RAFAEL, MFA 

Professor at UC Berkeley and USF

Mark Rafael is a professional actor, educator, and Communication coach.  A graduate of Brown University and the Yale School of Drama, he is currently a professor at the University of California Berkeley and the University of San Francisco. He also teaches at the American Conservatory Theater where he cofounded their Acting for Executive Presence program. Among the clients he has worked with are Pinterest, Facebook, Cisco, and Bank of America. He is the author of “Telling Stories: A Grand Unifying Theory of Acting Techniques” and has appeared as an actor in “Titanic”, “Star Trek Voyager”, and “Chance” among others.

FONTANA BUTTERFIELD

Professional Actress and Teaching Artist

Fontana Butterfield is an actor, improvisor, and coach with decades of experience teaching improv, acting and public speaking Academy of Art, Waterfront Theater, Speechless and ACT. She has a BA in Theater from SFSU, and completed the conservatory training in the Meisner technique at Laura Henry Studio in LA followed by extensive Meisner teaching training with Laura Henry. Recent theater acting credits include works at Berkeley Rep, South Coast Rep, Marin Shakespeare Company, Tides Theatre, Custom Made, Z Space and Shotgun Players. Fontana performs at comedy festivals and venues across the country with the improv duo The Right Now.

CLAIRE SLATTERY

Professional Improviser and Corporate Improv Coach

Claire Slattery is a seasoned performer, business development leader, and expert teacher/facilitator. She brings her 12+ years of experience to deliver trainings to groups and coaching to top executives and is particularly passionate about training women and non-binary leaders to free their voice, tell their story, and transform their impact. Claire has trained, performed, and produced her own original work at top theaters and comedy centers including Upright Citizens Brigade, iO West, The Groundlings, American Conservatory Theater, and We Players. She is a proud graduate of Stanford University and resident of Oakland, CA.

DOMINIQUE SALERNO

Actor, Improviser, Teaching Artist

Dominique Salerno is an actor, improvisor, playwright and theatre educator based in NYC. She earned her MFA at The American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and her BA at Princeton University. She has been working Improviser and Coach for over a decade, and has  trained with UCB, Magnet Theater and The Groundlings. Her Solo Show, The Box Show, won many awards including the Overall Excellence Award from FringeNYC and Best Comedic Script from United Solo Theatre Festival.  It also was selected as one of the 'Top 10 shows out of 200' for the Fringe Encore Series and was hailed as "the most purely delicious production" by The New York Times. Dominique is passionate about using theatre as a tool for connection and empowering people to become their most confident and empowered selves.
